Mm-kay. So today we have Ethel. Ethel writes:

Dear Gem,

I really am intrigued by the in depth information you provide regarding our skin tones and how important and valuable it is for us to find and know the colors that flatters us the most. I have attached…photos.

Please help me to determine the BEST colors I should wear in fashion as well as in eye colors and lip colors.

Here are Ethel’s answers to her brief questionnaire:

What color do you wear the most? Why?
Brown–It used to be black. I used to wear black a lot because people say that it goes with everything.
I wear brown now because I think it goes with my season and it’s now my basic color like black used to be.

What color do you wear the least? Why?
I don’t wear white that much because I don’t think I look good in it, especially when I take pictures in white.

What color do you feel sexy in?

What color do you get the most compliments in?

Okay, now let’s take a look at Ethel’s photos.

Ethel, I would say you are definitely an Autumn. In the first two photos, the black/white pattern and the black are just sitting on you, weighing your look down. In the orange and brown, you are glowing. The red looks like a slightly warmer red and the gold jewelry helps set off your skin.

The picture in the middle is interesting. There are several shades between fuschia, magenta, and others in that shade family. On the pinker side, which is what your outfit looks like, is where Winters shine. If the outfit had just a bit more purple in it, it would come off as a warm purple, a good shade for Autumns.

It’s telling that Ethel said she wears brown a lot and feels sexy in orange while having an aversion to black and white. She is already intuitively in-tune with her season which is a good foundation to have. I sure wasn’t before I became aware of my season!

I hope this helps Ethel, and for a more in-depth color analysis/list including eyeshadow, lip colors, etc. go ahead and enter the Giveaway for your chance at a complete list for this autumn!
